 In Honor of David Letterman I drafted a top ten list of reasons for our legislators to repeal property taxes.

10.       The property tax system is broken beyond repair.

09.       Property taxes are too high in Indiana, and have increased by more than 450% since 1980.

08.       Property Tax repeal will force State and Local governments to control their spending.

07.       The current property tax system is complicated, complex and virtually impossible for taxpayers to understand.

06.       The current property tax system is not fair to many homeowners because their assessments are not correct.

05.       The current property tax system penalizes people for making improvements to their property.

04.       Repealing property taxes will create a tremendous economic boom for Indiana.

03.       Everyone should pay for the cost of schools and local government rather than just property owners.

02.       No one will lose their homes because they can’t afford to pay property taxes.
